Dive-Tech: Fourth Element
Performance Function Inovation

The SubX has been developed for use underneath membrane and trilaminate drysuits we have been testing a prototype version and can confirm that it is the warmest undersuit we have tried.

Windproof, and waterproof. the suit consists of a jacket and salopette or 'farmer john' giving maximum protection to the body core. It will also continue to provide thermal protection if it becomes wet, either by a leak or more fundamental suit failure.

The outer material is a trilaminate material comprising a nylon/polyester outer and microfibre inner, bonded to a breathable, but waterproof membrane. The inner material is a 400g shearling fleece, which provides high performance thermal protection and wicks moisture away from the skin.

The SubX is 100% machine washable, but should not be tumble dried. If the suit gets wet during diving without access to a washing machine, the suit can be dried by turning it inside out then rolling the garment from the bottom upwards to remove any excess water, then hanging it to dry. The collar can be turned down to avoid interfering with the neck seal of the drysuit, but in most cases this is not necessary, and the collar provides additional weather protection between dives when not wearing the drysuit.

Xerotherm Hat

The Xerotherm is the ultimate base layer for use under a drysuit. Made using Polartec® Powerstretch® which was originally developed for NASA, the Xerotherm traps a layer of air - a much better insulator than water - next to the skin, keeping the wearer drier and more comfortable.

Constructed from Polartec Power Strech fabric which has been used on several Everest expeditions, the Xerotherm is the most effective next to the skin garment for ensuring warmth and comfort in demanding environmental conditions.

The Xerotherm is made from the fastest wicking fabric in existence. Moisture is moved away from the skin. Air, which is a far superior insulator, is held at the skins surface. This dramaticly reduces conductive heat loss from the body.
